Well, I started the day yesterday by moving the microwave/hood outlet to the other side of the stud. As I had said a few posts ago, the outlet was centered on the hood cabinet but should’ve been to the right. Moving the outlet went pretty quickly.
Then after working for ten more hours, this is what the floor looked like:

And this is what the wall looks like:

Yay! The wall cabinets are hung! It took lots of shimming (Thank you, Denis. Thank you, OCD.) All day long I was singing Mary Poppins’ “Shim, shimminy, shim, shimminy, shim, shim, sher-ee…” Besides all the shimming, the vent pipe was a dog to get in. But it’s all installed, and it’s all staying right where it is. The base cabinets are next.
Holy “almost a kitchen”, Batman!
Oh, and are the cabinets on the other wall hung? Picture, man, picture!
You rock. Does the microwave vent to the outside? Really? I didn’t know that was possible. Awesome.
