Long Ride Home

“Delay” was the word of the day yesterday. My flight in Lincoln was supposed to take off at 12:24. It took off two hours late. I was going to miss my connection, so I re-booked on a later flight. This meant landing around nine instead of landing around seven. A two hour difference was going to make chapel-writing difficult. My layover in Chicago was lengthened, too. More chapel trouble…

Twenty-three less minutes to write chapel!

My problem was that I had forgotten to bring a Bible along. In order to write the chapel message I would need a Bible. I ended up searching nearly every bookstore in O’Hare airport. My search began at gate B-7, where I could only find a King James Bible, and ended at gate L-1, where I finally found an NIV. Whew! Just in time to board the plane.

I did get a chapel message written. I’m all set for today. Yay!

No Bibles?!?

I’m glad you got your chapel written, and I’m impressed that you had time to post today! Looks like you’re back in the swing of things. *Sigh*

Have fun with your lucky Maryland friends. I’ll spend today in mourning, complete with sackcloth and ashes.

I’m sorry that you will be in mourning Lauren, but I’m also rejoicing that our friend is back. He looks good – bright-eyed and refreshed – you all must have treated him right! If you and Lloyd return to teaching today, I wish you blessings on your day – don’t forget to date your papers with 2007!

Hey Lauren – ask Brad about chapel today!
His message was great, but when he showed his favorite present from Brent (a bag of seeds from some mysterious plant) the students thought it looked like a bag of weed!
Then when Brad played piano, a bunch of us teachers looked at each other in bewilderment wondering if this was a different tune to a familiar song. It wasn’t a new tune – it was Brad still thinking about being in Nebraska playing that 3-hour board game! It was just plain awful! We all had a good laugh about it – Brad laughed the hardest.

I would suggest that he learn the ukulele – it’s very popular with the youth of today.

I’d have been miffed if I was that Allentown plane that was almost 3 hours delayed…that’s forever in flight time…at least it is when you’re traveling with a baby and my brain has be re-wired to think only in baby terms. Stupid brain.
