A Long Night’s Sleep

Last night after I had come home and eaten and messed around a little, I settled into the couch to watch TV. My couch is a futon from IKEA and is not very uncomfortable to sit in. It is nice for lying on though, so I put it down last night. I was going to get comfortable under a blanket and watch Monk and then Psych. Monk starts at 9. It was about 8:30 when I fell asleep. I stayed asleep until about 10:30, at which time I tried to wake up for about 30 minutes. Then I just went to bed.

I couldn’t sleep past 5:00 this morning. I was having crazy-weird dreams about trying to plan a celebration or a choir tour or something. My plans kept getting interrupted and everything was falling apart. I had to get up because the dream was so stressful!

So instead of my regular 6, I had 8 hours of sleep last night… a good solid two of which were here on the futon:

The Sleeping Pit of Slow Surrender.

I’m gonna assume that khaki-colored object on the futon in your picture is NOT an overgrown but slightly-dehydrated Ned sleeping on his back, ribs showing from dehydration and all…right? Honest – first glance…it’s what I saw! And it’s too early to be “smokin’”, so…

Where did all the black framed things on your wall go? I know I haven’t actually been to your house in two years (in my defense, I live in Nebraska and have a nearly two year old)…but you didn’t even tell me you took those down…

I don’t know what to say, because my comments were all taken. I also thought that was a sickly NEd at first glance, and I also want to know where all the pictures went.

I guess I could comment on your cool lamp that looks like a flower, or your cookie-eating problem (Pepperidge Farm?), or ask what the heck that grey box on the wall is for. How ’bout that?

Surely you jest … in the “Handbook of How to Fall Asleep in One Second” it clearly states that all you need to do is lay down, with a blanket and a pillow, with only the TV on and it’s good night-lights out, Zzzzzzzz … everyone knows that … seriously, what were you thinking?

  5. Peggy says:

(I on the other hand could not sleep ’cause I can’t find my school keys … if you’re still at school & get a chance would you see if they’re on my desk? With all the junk I carried home yesterday, I’m afraid I dropped them somewhere … yikes!)

No school keys on your desk…look in your boots, that is where Lynne just found hers after months of looking!

And that was no dream Brad, you are planning on having the big Lenten faculty celebration at your house tonight. You invited all the teachers and staff and their families. My kids have been looking forward to seeing Ned all week. Snap out of it buddy, you have 200 guests coming in 2 hours!

I see your 8 hours and raise you 4 more! I too was VERY sleepy after I left school. After all that talk you, Peggy and I had about good places to eat, I felt the need to eat at Bertucci’s. All it took was one glass of red wine and those yummy warm rolls. I was home in bed by 7:50 and woke up at 7:50 this morning – 12 hours of solid sleep! Apparently I was dead to the world – I slept through Michael vomiting all night!
