Cats Playing Piano

I hereby declare the video of Nora the Cat playing piano to be a viral video. I have seen it in many different places, and it’s getting sent around in emails as well. It’s really cool! If you haven’t seen it, click the link here or push “play” below.

Cricket has already shown her abilities in this area, so I wanted to showcase Ned. Here he is in all his piano-playing glory:

A pensive moment in the music.

A more aggressive posture.

Dump

There’s nothing like the satisfaction of taking a load of junk to the dump. Yesterday I decided to finally take the latest kitchen-remodel trash to the dump. It consisted mostly of countertop end pieces. I also threw away various and sundry pieces of junk from the basement. It was very cleansing.

Some of the basement stuff was still useable, so I took that to The Salvation Army. The donation area around back was closed. So I took the stuff to Goodwill. They don’t accept furniture, so I couldn’t take the chair I wanted to get rid of. Why do they make it so hard to donate stuff? Do they want me to throw it away? What would the environmentalists say?

The Orchid Bloometh

Well, my guess that I would have orchids by New Year’s was off by several weeks. The bloom spikes on my phalaenopsis orchid kept growing and growing. They have finally bloomed. I love this plant! Once you site it in the right light, it’s so easy to care for. And the flowers will last FOREVER.
Or at least until June or July.

I no longer have a bathroom. I have an exotic tropical spa.

Where are we? Hawaii?

New Ring

A new ring I ordered came in the mail a couple of days ago. It brings my total up to seven rings. This one has a garnet. I have been interested in getting a ring with a stone, but men’s rings with stones tend to look too cheesy to me. And of course women’s rings with stones look too girly. I like this ring because it’s simple and not too girly. It’s already part of the rotation. Maybe I’ll wear it today again to go with my Valentine’s Day tie that I didn’t get to wear yesterday.

After checking my regular news site again, maybe I won’t wear it today.
School is closed. I was thinking maybe late start. But closed?

Holiday red.

Freezing Rain

Well, we’ve got another snow day today. The snow that gave us an early dismissal yesterday turned into freezing rain over night. Right now (7:30am), it’s sleet. Baltimore is a little skittish when it comes to snow, but I don’t think even experienced snow drivers would go out in this if they had a choice.

Even though school is cancelled, I will be going in. The accreditation team is visiting our school this week. I was scheduled for a meeting with them. My current info says it’s delayed two hours, so I won’t be going in until 11. Hopefully by then the streets will be nicer. I don’t like driving in snow or ice. I don’t have skills.

Ice, ice, baby.
