Spring!

There seems to be a two day delay between weather in Nebraska and weather here. Sure enough, here it is: Spring! Beth said two days ago that Spring had arrived there. Tree buds let her know. We have buds here, too. My elderberry has been fun to watch because its dark-leaved buds have swollen over the last two weeks. They popped yesterday. My peach tree opened one bloom yesterday. It will soon be COVERED with flowers. (The Cherry Tree Festival in DC is this weekend I hear.) My Japanese Maple is fun in Spring because it has tiny red flowers.

But what announces Spring the best for me is bulbs. Hyacinths tell me. Winter is over.

We have another cold snap coming the end of this week, but it’ll only be a soft freeze if anything. I’m guessing after this, we’ll be done with freezes.

This is in front, right where I park.
Hello, Spring!

The Butterfinger wrapper is a nice touch, isn’t it? I didn’t see it when I took the picture. Stupid litterers! If I ever saw one of them actually throwing something on the ground, I think I would tackle them. My yard is always full of trash because of them. Grrrr!
These are pretty flowers though, aren’t they?

We’ll be sure to put that on your tombstone after your back snaps in half – “He died keeping our planet clean.” Maybe you’re better off setting out some super-sensitive land mines. Candy wrapper – BOOM!!

Maybe the Butterfinger wrapper is a gift from the poison candy culprit who is coming to get you once again!

I LOVE your hyacinths – my tulips are popping up now too.

Spring is wonderful, but it also brings snot – lots of snot! I have accumulated over 20 boxes of tissues from students this week – it’s amazing what offering a bonus point will do!

“I see trees of green, red roses too,
I see them bloom, for me & you,
And I think to myself, What a Wonderful World!”

but, “Upon us all a little Butterfinger must fall”

Spring has spung a little early! Its a welcome sight, but I didn’t get my bulbs into the ground in time… so I’ll just appreciate yours!
