My Cousin’s Wedding

I’ve been to my first outdoor wedding. It was really cool. It took place at an old inn that has become a restaurant. The outdoor space was in the woods by a creek. It happened at dusk. It was gorgeous weather. Good job, Julian… or should I say Anna? :) This is not a very good shot, but it’s the only picture I have of the couple:

Mr.

There were a lot of people there I didn’t know, so it was nice to have a wedding program. But there was something about the quote on the front of the program that sounded familiar.

Do you see what I mean?

I should have caught it right away, especially since I know how well-suited Julian would be for working with middle schoolers. The ring he wears on his right hand should be a clue for you.

It's a Green Lantern ring! In brightest day and blackest night...

Okay, if you still can’t remember where that quote is from, check out the centerpiece on the bride and groom’s table:

I AM the pumpkin king!

It’s a quote from The Nightmare Before Christmas! Isn’t it awesome? I congratulate my cousin and his wife on a very cool wedding! Happy marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Julian Staros!

A wedding … in the fall … on a crisp night, surounded by nature … with a Halloween-ish flavor to it … it doesn’t get better than that!!!

Best Wishes to the happy couple!

    What’s this? What’s this?
    There’s music everywhere!
What’s this? There’re flowers in her hair.
    What’s this? They’ve got
    candles in the votives,
could it be that love’s the motive?
    What’s this?

Wish I could have been there –
I would have gone crazy with delight!

So, I guess you didn’t swing dance. But what about Oogie Boogie…man!

  4. Lauren says:

What were the favors in the little bags? Chocolate hearts? Chocolate bats? (I really hope they were bats.)

    • Brad says:

Sorry… they were chocolate leaves. The decor had an autumn theme.

And since yesterday, I’ve found out that The Nightmare Before Christmas is Anna’s favorite movie. Julian has found a good match!
