I Think It’s the Lights

Dang it, if Lauren didn’t post at night _I_ would have been the first to post a picture of a Christmas tree.

I’ve had the lights on my tree for a week. I was having trouble deciding where to go from there. I have a few different choices when it comes to ornaments. I decided to try something simple and just went with balls and bead garlands. It looks kind of bad.

Last year I had gotten the newest fad – LED Christmas lights. I decided to use them again this year, but they seem too big or something. Or maybe it’s that I got multi-color. I just don’t like it. But I don’t want to go without putting stuff on the tree. Maybe I’ll strip it all down over the weekend or something. Or maybe I’ll just leave it. Or set it on fire.

It's prettier without a flash and slightly blurry.

I think it looks lovely, but set it on fire if you must. i just can’t get over how shiny your floor is – look at those LED reflections!!

I think that there are no bad Christmas decorations. During my scroogiest year, I put lights on the tree and then used stuff from around the house as decorations. A box of Jello, some disposable razors, empty cans of Pepsi – I thought it was hilarious! Your tree needs a box of Jello.

It warms my heart to see all of these fake Christmas trees. Charles and I got a fake one when we moved to Utah because it’s so dry here, a real one would almost instantly burst into flame (also, it’s a heck of a lot easier, and I’m easy). Because of the fake tree, I have consequently been disowned from my family.

You’re easy? Can Charles corroborate? Heh.

Where is the quarter for scale?

Lovely, thank you for the inspiration, I believe that is what my family will be doing tonight!

I think it looks great!! And I only slightly hate you for having it up already. I still have pumpkins outside for petes sake … and all but 4 of my Christmas balls are broken … I don’t feel scroogey, it’s just that my mind won’t move beyond the month of October.

he he, Peggy said “balls” 🙂 TGIF I say!

Colored lights? You’ve strayed so far from your roots…

I guess he’s just a wild and crazy guy!

Beth, MY roots were the all blue lights – you know, the kind that somehow say “funeral parlor” or “Addams family” when they’re on? Mom loved ’em; Dad loved Mom; the rest is history. Really. Nothing even smelling of all blue lights has ever touched a Frey Christmas.
