I have had my run-ins with the post office in the past. That’s why I was a little suspicious of the note I got two days ago. It said a package couldn’t be delivered because there was postage due on it. The amount? Seventeen cents. My suspicion is that I might be on a double-secret list of people who should be inconvenienced because they’re troublemakers. I say “yes, sir” and “yes, ma’am” when I see them, but perhaps they can see in my eyes how I truly feel. Or perhaps they’re monitoring Bradaptation.
Whatever the case, I had to get this package. I took seventeen cents to the post office yesterday. Seventeen cents worth of PENNIES! Ha! That’ll show them to mess with Brad!
The package ended up being for Denis. It was a memory card for his new Palm T/X PDA. He has such marvellous toys.
IN OTHER NEWS: School is closed today because of some snow, sleet, and freezing rain. I’m excited for the time off, but actually being at school is getting harder and harder. I’d like to just have a five day week again so I can get back into the groove.
I like your style. To bad we don’t use half-pennies anymore, or you could have really incovenienced them!
Oh, yeah! Stick it to them! I wonder if they’d take foreign currency? At 2,000 (Colombian) pesos to the dollar, you could really get them!
I agree with your “getting into the groove” comment. The next five-day week is going to be a killer! I have no more grading and thanks to unplanned days off, I am already planned into next week.
What could I possibly do with another “snow” day? Well, I rented three movies last night to hold me and the kids over since sledding isn’t a possibility – ha! One of them is “Balls of Fury” – obviously that one is for the kids. I also rented “Elizabeth” – Kim, did you ever see that? And of course we will squeeze in a game of Settlers!
I wish I had a hunk of meat in the freezer for the crockpot. Bummer.
UPDATE: I found freezer burn chicken and covered it up with barbeque sauce. It made for a yummy crockpot dinner AND we might be able to use the dishwasher! He, he.
What day is it anyway? That’s one of the most confusing things for me with all these days off … and it’s getting to be quite a bit of hard work to do nothing day after day after day …
I think next time, if you really want to stick it to them … you should … jelly up the coins 1st!
I feel obligated to post a “you never have school” comment. I wanted to make it funny or witty, but I’m afraid it’s going to come off as simply resentful.
