For a little while now, I’ve been searching for a cat breeder to supply me with Ned II. Yesterday, I met them. John and Carole live about thirty minutes north of here and raise hairless cats in their home. Their cattery is called Destyny Sphynx. The extra “y” in “destiny” is for SphYnx. I didn’t get that until this morning.
Anyway, I went for a visit yesterday. Their cats are awesome. They have a litter right now, but the kittens are all spoken for. I did get to hold one. It was small, wrinkly, and precious. They have a female they just sent to another cattery to be bred. Her name is Skin Amon And Spice (“Cinnamon” and Spice — get it?), but they call her Chelsea. Chelsea will give birth at the end of April, and my kitten will be ready to go home at the end of July. I couldn’t see Chelsea, because she was still in Texas, but all the other cats at their home were beautiful. I also saw a picture of the male she was bred with. He looked just like the cat we had all through my childhood, but with no hair… a hairless Sam.
Since I couldn’t take a picture of Chelsea, I lifted one from their website. She looks like Pfennig with no hair!
Here is my baby’s momma:

And here’s Pfennig:

Hey, if you want a hairless cat that looks like Pfennig, I can provide you with one! Give me ten minutes with a clippers…..
How about side-by-side photos of hairless Pfennig and the baby’s momma?
Do you get a discount because it doesn’t have hair?
Also, I believe the proper term is Cat House.
hehe
Does that mean it’s possible to get a little hairless Sam? That would be cool. But then you would have to name him Sam, not Ned. It would be too confusing otherwise. Except of course his name will be Bruce.
cattery??? I guess that is a word in Bradaptationland.
Your baby’s momma is pretty.
Your baby’s momma is AWESOME! This is very exciting news & what perfect timing!
Now, are you gonna be one of those parents who won’t tell us the name?
And 30 minutes north … are they near me?
Maybe I’m just being picky, but shouldn’t it be my baby mommy? You know, just like my baby daddy?
I have to say, I like the spotted skin.
Yo baby’s momma! *
No comma! *
No fur but does she wanna *
Be furry? * No worries *

Well, this thread surprised me – judging by the title I thought we were back to Peggy’s plant mothering your shoots or whatever all that was about a while back. Or perhaps something even MORE controversial. Ahem.
But come on now – honestly! A cute, fluffy, furry kitty vs. a skin-visible (as opposed to INvisible…get it?) mottled one? No contest IMHO.
What – no Chelsea (Clinton) jokes posted yet? I’m disappointed…
…and Lauren? About your new career in rap music? Uh…let’s leave it at “You did far better than I would have”, shall we?
