Seward Garden Tour

Yesterday evening was the Seward Garden Tour 2008. It was really cool to see something similar to the Home and Garden Tour that my neighborhood has sponsored for the last few years.

There were seven houses on the tour. We only got to a few of them, because it started to rain. The ones we saw were cool. One of the most interesting stops was a house that had a water feature running the whole length of the house. It was a series of small pools connected by waterfalls.

Good job, Roger and Joan!

It started to storm, so we took a break for BLT’s. The storm started with heavy rain, but turned into hail.

Holy hail, Batman!

But the best thing about the whole tour was what was written on the ticket. Hehe!

Do NOT drive into the gardens!
“Please leave your car in the street and walk into the gardens.” Haha!

Withdrawn

Well, I’m withdrawing myself from the “Who Can Use a Tube of Toothpaste Up First” contest. That just leaves Kiwe, Beth, and Lauren. I left my Tom’s Spearmint Gel at home. I started with a new tube of toothpaste because I was coming to Nebraska and wasn’t sure if I could procure a tube of Tom’s of Maine Gel here.

I got Cinnamon-Clove Gel. I have to say, the Tom’s Gel is where it’s at. I haven’t experienced a bad flavor yet. I look forward to trying many other gel flavors in the future. For now, though, it’s my first love: Cinnamon-Clove. Yum!

Mouth-wateringly delicious. I could EAT this stuff!

Only In Nebraska

We went to “Bad Movie Night” last night. It’s a monthly event where Lloyd and a bunch of other guys see a bad movie. Last night we were a little disappointed because we went to see The Incredible Hulk and it was better than expected. After the movie we went to get a bite to eat at a wings place. I don’t like chicken wings, so I mostly just watched. My stomach was a little upset anyway. I think I’m getting used to Nebraska water or something – you know, Montebraska’s Revenge and all that.

Anyway, about four hours had passed from the time we parked in the parking garage to the time we were returning to the car. And what did we see on the roof of the car as we approached it?

Ha!

The keys to the car! They had been sitting there for four hours, and no one took them, or stole the car or anything. Only in Nebraska!

Stupid BWI

I’ve arrived in Nebraska! I didn’t die!

I got to the airport in Baltimore way before my flight. I had two hours to kill. I like airports, so I was looking forward to it. I had books to read, but was kind of hungry. There was a Wendy’s on Concourse C. Ehhxcellent! I would get a nice, greasy hamburger. Unfortunately, the line was really long. I had a lot of time to kill, so I waited. Also unfortunate was the fact that the woman behind me was an airport employee who was boasting about how she was on the clock still but that she was angry and so she was going to have lunch, then sit around, then clock out. I didn’t like her work ethic. I think it might have showed on my face, so I didn’t turn around.

By the time I got to the front, I was really hungry. I ordered a hamburger. The girl behind the counter said they were out of hamburgers. All they had was chicken sandwiches. What? No hamburgers at Wendy’s?!? And apparently, that had been true the whole dang time I was in line. Could they not have made an announcement? Or at least made a little sign on a placemat? Criminy!

After getting some food at another restaurant, it was time to board the plane. I sat on the runway for two and a half hours because it was raining north and west of the airport. Sheesh! Fortunately, by the time I got to Minneapolis, my connecting flight hadn’t left. I made it, and so did my luggage! But no thanks to BWI Airport. Stupid BWI with their stupid no hamburgers and stupid delays because of rain.

Here is the hateful Wendy's that doesn't serve hamburgers. Stupid Wendy's.

Another Visit with Max

I went to Destyny Sphynx yesterday again. It was time for another visit with Max. When I got there, he was asleep. Carole said the kittens had all been awake and running around like crazy about twenty minutes earlier. Now they were sleeping. She woke Max up and handed him to me. He was very groggy, but he purred.

After he woke up a little, he walked around some. There was an adult cat that was in a playful mood and Max watched him play for a while.

His eyes aren't really that weird looking. Its a trick of the flash.

I put him up on a chair after a while. He started to wake up and play a little.

Shake?

He chewed on my finger a little. It was cute, except for the puncture wound from his needle-like teeth.

A fierce beast.

I'm flying to Nebraska today.

After he woke up fully, he was quite playful.

Looking dangerous.

But he was quick to just sit and look cute, too.

Awwww...

Carole put him in the “soccer field” after he woke up. It’s a pen that has a bunch of balls in it. He knocked a ball around for a while. It was cute. I took some movies. Click the links below:

Lauren, if you’re reading this post already, hang on… I’m uploading to YouTube.
Sheesh! It’s taking forever. There are three movies total.
Sorry I didn’t “embed” them, everybody, but this post already has a lot of pictures. I have to conserve bandwidth.

MOVIE ONE
MOVIE TWO
MOVIE THREE
