No More Toasting

I cracked my favorite glass last night. It’s a giant glass mug that I think Peggy gave me when she was mugging me. I liked it so much because I could fill it with crushed ice and there would still be enough room for a generous amount of drink. Then I could drink the drink and crunch on the ice.

Last night I took it out of the dishwasher and directly to the refrigerator to fill it with ice. It couldn’t take the abrupt change in temperature and cracked. Dang. Where do you find giant glass mugs? HERE is a picture of me holding it, for scale.

Here are the sad, sad cracks:

D'oh!

These mugs are readily available at your local discount store. We have a small supply – Leo likes them frozen and ready for a nice, cold beer.

Don’t despair! You can replace it!

I think you could fix that with some Mighty Putty. Billy Mayes says it works, and I believe everything he says.

(I almost couldn’t write about your sorrowful mug because I was so distracted by your beautiful backsplash.)

More to the point, I didn’t know that links to images in your new version of wordpress creates favicon pictures too. If you ask me, finding that out is well worth you breaking a mug or two.

Besides, now you can start collecting mugs that are made from canning jars.

I thnk you need a schedule forty.

  5. Peggy says:

So what I’m hearing is, you want to be mugged again.

Oh, yes! Shall we?! That was such a good way to clean out my cupboards so much fun!

But now wait – I gotta question: did you anticipate the mug would break from thermal stress, fill it first and take the shot of your hand holding it, then empty it out and watch cracks form, or what? I mean, I didn’t see any cracks in the full mug, so I am assuming you took the mug-in-hand shot first…ja? Hmmmmmm…
