Happy Halloween! I thought it might be scary to write about underarm deodorant today.
I’ve recently had to get a new bottle of my current deodorant. It’s a treehugger brand called “Naturally Fresh”. (I use a lot of treehugger products. Could I unwittingly be a treehugger? …not that there’s anything wrong with that.)
My deodorant requirements are: it must keep me from stinking, it must not burn my underarms, it must not have a smell of its own, and it must not flake off. I started my deodorant career with clear solids, then I switched to white solids, then to roll-ons. Every once in a while, the deodorant brand I’m using will spontaneously stop working. Then the search for a new one begins. After “Ban” stopped working, I found “Naturally Fresh”. I’ve been using it for several years now. Here’s hoping it doesn’t stop working soon.

Max has sprouted some new hairs. He has random white hairs growing in the areas that have previously been “black”. These new hairs are longer than his usual fuzz. I think he’s growing his winter coat.
The weather has been cooler lately, so it makes sense. I’m only running space heaters for now, so the house is kind of cool, especially at night. One nice side effect is that Max has become more cuddly. He used to sit on the couch for thirty seconds, then jump off and run into the next room. But now he just lays in front of the heater. He’ll still wrestle a little, but he likes the heat… the lazy heat. Ehhxcellent.

After finding out that Ice Breakers Pacs would no longer be made, due to their unfortunate resemblance to packets of cocaine, I bought up a bunch of them.
I gave away several of the containers of candy and ended up having two left. I took them to school. Ever since school started I’ve slowly been eating them. They’re nice for when my mouth is dry or for when I have coffee breath. It has been hard deciding whether to keep them forever or to eat them, but little discolorations have appeared on the pouches, so I don’t think they’ll last much longer. The expiration date on the container says “August 08″.
I have two small pouches left. I may eat them today, since we’re celebrating the Reformation in chapel today. I hear Martin Luther liked to eat sugarless candy that was made to resemble packets of cocaine.

I went to the grocery store yesterday. It was a “stock up” trip. I haven’t done one of those in a long time. I was mostly looking for some lunch ingredients. I’ve decided to go with cheese and crackers this week. I’ve already done the frozen dinner thing and the sandwich thing. I’m tired of them. I was unfortunately not able to find some summer sausage, so it will be a meat-free lunch. But I got two delicious cheeses and those awesome butterfly-shaped butter crackers that Pepperidge Farm makes.
While I was at the store, I saw asian pears for sale, and I couldn’t believe the price. They were $3.99 per pound. Usually they’re $3.99 each! I got a pile of them to eat with my cheese and crackers. Asian pears laugh at my power to pick mealy apples. They are always crisp and juicy. And the flavor is so delectable. They are easily my favorite raw fruit.

The power came on again yesterday around 5pm or so. I immediately turned on all kinds of lights and sat at the computer and watched TV. It was awesome. Unfortunately, my DVR was scrambled, so I couldn’t watch any recorded shows. But to be basking in the cool glow of the TV again… ahhhh!
After getting a BLT from Zorbas, I was going to sit down and watch my Sunday evening cartoons. But what was this? They weren’t on. Something had bumped them. Something called the World Series? Apparently, it’s some sort of classic fall game played at a place called Tampa Bay in Philadelphia. Why is this more important than cartoons? And why must four games be played? If they only played one, they would have been done by now. I don’t get it.
