I don’t know what it is with me and mornings lately, but yesterday my truck wouldn’t start. When I turned the key, all I got was “click-click-click-click”. Thank goodness for the internet. It suggested that my battery was depleted. I did remember that on Sunday my window was still down after getting out of the truck. I turned the key to the “on” position to roll the window up. The headlights must’ve stayed on. I’ve been leaving my lights on all the time because they usually turn off by themselves. Usually. I’ll be turning the switch manually from now on.
I have jumper cables, so I turned Denis’ car around and jump-started my truck. Easy-peasy! So I’ve had a flat tire and a dead battery. What other common car problem can I experience at 6am? I hope my next challenge is not a dead body in the bed of my truck. I’m low on trash bags.

I’ve really gone a long time between haircuts this time. It’s because Ken, my regular haircut guy, has moved to a new location. He’s gone from the Hair Cuttery to Bubbles. It’s in the same mall, but costs twice as much. I really liked the haircuts Ken gave me, but not enough to pay $25 for them. Goodbye, Ken.
Yesterday I got Denis to cut my hair. He’s pretty good with a clippers. And I don’t have to pay him $25. He did eat a cheese roll though.

The same student who was involved in “Jesus Christ Superstar” last year is in “Guys And Dolls” this year. I went to see it last night. It was fun to watch. I’ve never seen that particular musical before. I did recognize a couple of songs though. I knew the opening song, Fugue for Tinhorns. I also knew Luck be a Lady, though I think it was from Frank Sinatra singing it, not Marlon Brando.
It was in the Greek Orthodox church again, since it was a production of their youth group. They had a great spread at intermission. I was short on cash, so I couldn’t get any pizza. Cookies were only 50 cents though.
The kids did a great job. They had their usual little kids being extremely cute. They also had some great singers, most notably the guy playing Sky Masterson and the girl playing Miss Adelaide.

Last night at 11pm I felt really sleepy. It had been a pretty good day. After a meeting day at school, I came home and worked in the garden a little. Then I watched a little TV. I haven’t been keeping up with my Doctor Who recordings, so I watched an episode. After playing on the computer a little, I thought that since it was around 11pm, I should probably go to bed.
Then I looked at the clock. It was 8:30. Sheesh! It used to be fun to go to bed super-early every once in a while as a special treat. But to go to bed every night at eight-something makes me feel like an old man. I decided to make a trip to Target. It would still be open, and I could amuse myself by looking at a nice variety of products.
The Target I usually go to has recently undergone renovations. The bathrooms got moved to a new location and got all new fixtures. Among the upgrades were new hand dyers. They were Xlerators! I had seen them before in Lincoln. Lauren documented it. My comment makes me laugh. Especially considering the picture I took last night.
Behold the power of the Xlerator!

I’ve gotten a couple of my silver rings from the Salt Lake Silver Ring Co. They have really good prices and interesting rings. Because of my orders, I’m on their email list, which is really fun because every once in a while they send out notices of crazy-good sales.
Last week I got an email about a sale on tungsten carbide rings. I’ve already branched out from silver to stainless steel, so I checked out tungsten carbide. What their website says sounds pretty cool, and the ring I was looking at was 80% off, so I ordered it.
It came yesterday. I love it! It is very dark – a black-colored silver. And it’s shiny because of facets cut into it. And it’s heavier than any of my other rings. Plus, even though tungsten is the hardest pure metal in the world, I don’t have to worry about my finger being cut off in an emergency situation, because it can be broken into pieces with a standard vice grip style locking pliers (if Wikipedia is to be believed).
