Day Trip

Yesterday I decided to go to the music store again. My handbell choir requires music that is defined by very specific parameters, and I’m not finding it in catalogs. I needed to see samples in person.

Menchey Music Service is the nearest store. Going there and back takes half a day. But at least it was a nice day for a drive. The air was cool, and the trees were all shades of fall.

Pretty...

My search was successful. There was good news and bad news. The good news was that all handbell music was 50% off. The bad news is that it was on sale because they’re liquidating their inventory. They will no longer be stocking handbell music in their store. Dang.

This time, I only spent fifty bucks. I got a bunch of handbell music and I got another piano book for church.

Will this be my last visit to Menchey ever?

On the way out of Hanover, I sat at a stoplight behind this vehicle. I noticed the vanity plate first, then saw the license plate border. Ha!

They were from Baldnmore Sphynx Cattery.

I’m especially glad there was a license plate border…

Because I read “Spanx are us”, and Spanx is a brand of squeezy hose and girdles made for women of stature…and I think that would be an especially weird vanity plate.

Aw, Menchey, we hardly knew ye. Really – I think this is the first time Brad called you by name.

At least you got to go down when the trees were pretty! I just noticed this morning that our oak tree is all yellow. When did that happen?

This is my very most favorite vanity plate ever: http://www.greatvanityplates.com/eat-the-kids-first-vanity-plate/

We have these in IN, and if I could afford it, I’d get it here. *sniff

      I love that one!

Me too, but it’s so dnag expensive. 40 for the speciality plate and 50 for the vanity print, then there’s the usual plate fees. I think our newer car runs close to 100 each year (IN goes by value of the car for how much it costs to register). I’ll do it when we win the lottery.

Brad, there seems to also be a Menchey Music in Perry Hall on Bel Air Rd (B’lair Rd to us locals…Hon) near Joppa Rd, but it’s probably not a full-service store like the one in PA. However, I wager you might still be able to order through them next time without putting all the miles on the truck. But, then, the drive is the real point, is it not? So, bottom line: never mind.

…and what are the chances of pulling up behind another human owned by a naked cat?! Amazing. Simply amazing.

Do you always leave your passenger side door open?
