I did even less on my second snow day, but I took lots of pictures so it will look like I was busy. Mostly I just played Peggle after napping during some “Golden Girls” episodes, which made for really restless sleep. My favorite show to nap through is “The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross”, but the only time I know that’s on is Saturday morning.
Anyway, here goes:
I shoveled the sidewalk.

I worried about my ‘Sky Pencil’ holly. It normally looks like a column.

I was craving homemade pizza after seeing Beth’s post about it. I walked to the grocery store and got the ingredients.

And I hung some curtains that I got at IKEA a while back. They’re orangey-coppery-gold. I’ll be re-doing the living room in stages. Curtains first. I may get around to painting this room within the year.

Hey! I saw those curtains in the catalog that came in the mail…I like them-maybe I need to make an Ikea run after wrestling on Saturday.
I used my time just as wisely yesterday. I spoke with my parents for about an hour, visited with the neighbor for about an hour, graded essays for about an hour, cleaned bathrooms for about an hour, took a nap for about an hour, cooked in the kitchen for about an hour, goofed off on the computer for at least 2 hours.

Wow – you really had a reason for a snow day! That’s some impressive ice.
Your pizza looks delicious. We usually put black olives on homemade pizza, but I’ll have to try one with green ones.
I think you were plenty busy for your seventh day off in a row.
Well, it looks productive to me…especially hanging curtains…I hate doing that & would never consider that chore on a glorious snow day…
BTW:
1. What food store did you walk to? All the way down to Safeway?
2. Did you rearrange your furniture again?
3. What color are you going to paint the LR?
4. Bob Ross is on Saturdays? I love him!
1. I went to Harvest Fare. I learned a valuable lesson: No matter how freaky-long the express line is, it’s still faster than getting in the regular lane behind someone who has their cart stuffed to overflowing.
2. I haven’t rearranged yet, but I want to.
3. I haven’t decided on a color. I’m thinking orangey-brown, but that would make the whole room brown and I just saw a thing on TV that said you shouldn’t make a room be all one color. But I like all one color.
4. I can’t remember what time. It’s in the morning though. I wake up early and then lie on the couch and watch him. It’s on PBS. Maybe you could DVR it.
I don’t think you need to listen to TV shows about how to paint your rooms. They do goofy things on TV shows. Heck, I saw them paint an entire room in purple and gray with purple and gray carpet and purple and gray furniture.
Our bedroom is all hot-chocolate colored (Harold’s word, I call it cappuccino). Walls, bedding, pillows. And it’s beautiful.
But I’m pretty sure I remember when we came to meet Max over the summer, you had your couch on an angle in the corner of the room. Now it looks straight up against the wall again. Did I dream that arrangement? Am I nuts?
No and yes.
I did move the couch. I didn’t like how it was blocking the window. There really aren’t very many ways to arrange things in that room and keep the TV from being the only thing you see. Maybe I’ll just leave things the way they are.
Maybe you could get some twine (or some of that red rope that Dad used for EVERYTHING) and tie the poor holly back together.
Especially since you have a two-hour delay today.
I hate you just a little for that. But I mean that in the nicest possible way.
I forgot to look at the holly this morning to see if it had recovered, but I’m at school already, so it doesn’t matter anyway. Maybe I’ll tie it up tonight. If I remember.
I’m just glad to be going back to school. Snow days mess with my routine. I LOVE my routine.
Love the curtains. We got some of the see-through curtains at IKEA for Susana’s room. I said that when we shortened them, I would MAKE the other set… but I haven’t done that yet, so I think we’re just going to get another set so that she can have proper curtains instead of a jumble of leftovers that we threw up there a year ago.
Nice going!
Leave it to the wet blanket here, but having just scrolled down from the full-color shot of the new curtains……..honestly?…….the word “brothel” ran through my head. On this end of cyberspace they look very red for some reason. Not that our home is anywhere near what one might call “decorated”, so no judgment going out to you there – just an observation. If nothing else, guess it suggests where my mind was going after our faculty meeting after school today (i.e., a creative fund raising idea that might turn a
trickdollar quickly).
