Mystery at Church

On my way back to my seat during communion, I noticed a round spot of light on the wall. It was really striking, so I went back after the service was over to check it out.

How mysterious...

After looking around for the origin, I found it. But it was even more mysterious.

An opening? Up there?

A church member who was watching me investigate said he’d noticed it before. He’s part of the Property Committee, so he looks for stuff like this. He said he thought it was a BB.

But ain’t it pretty?

Ooo! Ahh!

A Full Day

I went to the World of Pets Expo yesterday. It has been two years since my last visit. Time flies!

I had fun walking through the vendor area. This year’s newest offering was a gerbil show. I didn’t get too close because I’ve killed so many rodents in my life I thought I might smell of death and scare the owners.

There was a different sign explaining that gerbils are not rats.

I was particularly fascinated at the booth of a vendor called Pocket Pets. They were selling small animals called sugar gliders. After coming home and researching a little, I know I wouldn’t get any as long as I have another pet. I wouldn’t dedicate enough time to their care. They’re still cool though. They said pictures weren’t allowed, so you’ll have to go to the link if you want to see them.

The obstacle course was great. I watched for a long time.
Was this a new category?

No, they were just making sure they remembered the course.

Here’s a fast dog. I love when he does the weave thing. He’s quick!

Here’s a slow dog. The way he went through the weave thing made me laugh.

I finished the day by seeing “Underworld: The Rise of the Lycans” (which is definitely BMN material) and by FINALLY getting my hair cut. You can tell how freaky-long it was by looking at my sideburns.

Before.After.

The Slow Method

When I had my day off on Tuesday, I decided I should do my laundry in the morning before going to school. I only got it half done. I got my colors washed and dried, but didn’t have time to dry the whites. I left them in the washer and was going to dry them when I got home. I forgot.

The next morning, when I went into the closet to get a white shirt, I remembered that the whites were still in the washer. Dang it! I would have to dry them in the evening. I forgot.

The morning after that, I remembered again. Dang it! I REALLY would have to remember this time.

I forgot.

Last night I finally remembered. I decided to wash them again. In hot water. With lots of soap. I started the washer shortly before 8pm. And forgot about the clothes.

I’ll dry them today, but I’ll have to wait until after church choir practice. I hope I don’t forget.

Dang it!

Jingle

I put my Christmas decorations away this past weekend, but yesterday I realized I’ve left one out: the jingle bells on the doorknob of my front door. It’s a happy sound when I come in the door, and it lets Max know I’m home. He’s getting better at greeting me at the door. He used to come running when I came home because I would give him a piece of beef right away, but he’s gotten a little chunky, so I’ve cut out the snacks. Now he just comes running so he can look at me and run and try to get me to chase him. Sometimes it works.

Anyway, I’m leaving the bells on for now. I like them. Maybe when it’s Easter and there’s still a Christmas decoration on my door I’ll feel silly and take it down. Or maybe I’ll leave it all year round.

Scheduling Extreme Grand Master

Michele has single-handedly constructed a viable and even desirable second semester schedule. She is the closest thing I know to a real-life Mentat.

The middle school and high school share several teachers, and as we begin second semester the high school schedule is shifting. It’s causing some of the cross-over teachers to be unavailable for our old middle school schedule. Without a change, we would have had dozens of students with no place to go and we teachers would have had to drop any free periods to supervise study halls with only four or six kids in them. It would have been a colossal waste of human resources and would not have served our students.

Michele the human computer to the rescue! She crunched it and crunched it and came up with something quite amazing. What should be done for her? I can at least immortalize her herculean efforts here at bradaptation. If I could pass my Peggle Extreme Grand Master trophy to her, I would. She deserves it. She is a Scheduling Extreme Grand Master.

My new class lists. Michele is amazing.
