Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

A Sudden End

Well, I finished my Xbox game last night. I was a little surprised when it ended. In the game, you’re a present-day assassin who is trapped in a lab and forced to “re-live” memories in your DNA from an ancestor who was an assassin. The bad guys are trying to find the location of a super weapon, the location of which is in your head. So after beating the big boss man (in DNA memory mode), suddenly the memory machine turns off, you’re in present-day, the bad guys have extracted the location of the weapon, and they leave. Then the credits roll.

What?

I watched all the credits, hoping there would be some closure to the story afterward. Nope. It returns to the game, and you’re still stuck in the lab. You’re able to see some secret messages left behind by former test-subjects and you’re able to get into the DNA memory machine and play earlier stages of the game, but there’s nothing else. The story is incomplete.

Assassin’s Creed 2 will be released Christmas 2009. Dang.

Receiving a dying confession from my traitorous master.

So…. the weapon was in your ancestor’s head or your head? And by ‘extracted’, does that mean like a tooth? Oh wait, I re-read it. I’m an idiot.

    Sorry about your traitorous master.

I re-read it & I’m still an idiot. So did they take the weapon from your head or just learned where it is? I’m sorry I don’t speak Xbox.

And don’t worry…I’m sure your traitorous master is really your father.

I didn’t edit very well this morning. I should have said “The bad guys are trying to find the location of a super weapon, and that information is in your head.”

The super weapon is an actual thing. It controls peoples’ minds. The ancestor hid the weapon after defeating the traitorous master.

If I’ve read the preview material correctly, in Part Two, the modern day “you” has a psychotic break, and the ancestor’s personality starts taking over, turning you into a Super Assassin.

Do you really think that you can handle a psychotic break with your weak gall bladder right now?

        • Carol

AGAIN, Lauren – you crack me UP!!
(Don’t laugh too hard, though, Brad…your GB and all…)

I’ve been playing a game called “Apollo’s Creed”, where I am reliving the life of a former heavy weight boxing champion.

Who do you assassinate? Good or Evil? Or just other assassins?

    • Brad

All along, your master tells you who to assassinate next. They’re all evil men. And then you find out your master was one of them. Sorry for the spoiler, but I figure that none of you will ever play this game.

While the form of this game with which I am more familiar hardly came in a box – X or otherwise – this is starting to sound like the modus operandi of a head administrator I knew once…nobody I presently report to, of course…

        Really.

        To both remarks.
