Sorry for another school post, but it’s what I did all day today. Actually, I didn’t do a lot, but it is a crucial part of switching into “school mode”: I got my bulletin board up for the year. It’s based on our school’s theme verse for the year, Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
I always like to choose a verse that compliments the theme verse and use that as the primary thrust for my design. The complementary verse I chose was Hebrews 10:23. That’s the text you can read in the picture below. It made me think of those crazy-tough plants that grow in the tiniest cracks and how they bloom in spite of heat and drought. The bulletin board message: God cracks the toughest situations for us and lets faith grow. “He who promised is faithful.”
I was particularly proud of my idea for the black-on-black words at the bottom. To make them stand out a little, I wiped over the paper with my chalkboard erasers. I’m a clever little monkey.
The flower petals, the black-on-black words, the torn-paper cloud…
*sigh*
You ARE a clever little monkey. And you have ALWAYS been an amazing artist.
Well done good and faithful servant.
Its… awesome.
Holy cow you are good at this. Can ‘bulletin boards’ be its own category?
I have a cd from a lady who has Bible verses set to cool music, and Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorites. “I know, I know, I know, I know the plans I have for you. *clap clap*…” I sing it around Deborah (it’s their wedding verse), and I believe it drives her crazy.
That doesn’t bother me as much as you singing the Menards song all through Menards.
Oh – that would bother anyone!
And now it’s going to be going through my head all day long… Thanks.
Save big money at MenARDS!!!! (I’m waiting for stuff to print, so I have a little time to annoy you both.) 😉
Or as we say in my family…”Shave big monkeys at Menards!”
STOP!!! It’s a new day, and now I have to suffer through it with that song. AGAIN!!
Jill, you are hilarious!
Karla, I’m going to get you a Menard’s gift card for Christmas. 😉
Dude! Then I’m getting you an Ikea gift card. I’ll think of your torment, while I’m walking around in mine. 😉
Brad, that is AWESOME!! I LOVE IT!! You, you’re good, you! It’s so eye appealing & what a great, great message too!! You should make smaller versions of it & sell them! Or give them to friends…I’ll take an 8X10 or 5X7….I’m not picky.
Truly! So, if the
literaturereligion teaching doesn’t work for ya’, I’d write you a reference letter for being a bulletin board meister somewhere. [Mine are so lame in comparison.]“We are not worthy!”
[…and what a great witness, as always, sir!]
