Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Seven Years

I’ve been drinking coffee pretty regularly lately. I like to have a warm drink in the morning, and coffee is calorie-free. And a lot cheaper than tea. The caffeine was getting to me, though, so I started drinking some decaf I had at school. I can’t remember when I got it, but it was some time before Christmas. Being curious about it, I looked on the label to see the expiration date. This is what it says:

1-29-03

2003?!? Can you even drink coffee that old? I guess you can, because I’ve been doing it since last week. And I guess that goes to show how sophisticated my coffee-tasting palate is. I can drink seven-year-old coffee and not even notice it.

That coffee expired 2 years before most of my students were born. Wow!

Too bad your barcode couldn’t look like one of these. That would bring a smile during that morning cup.

Those are cool. What would the LLoyd and Lauren barcode resemble? Or Brad’s? Or Beth’s?????

Wait, I know. Brad would have feet in his barcode.

I’m intentionally keeping my wine palate ignorant and unsophisticated. I really like wine. But I like that I can drink cheap wine and not really care.

    And “sometime before Christmas”. Heh.

I think you should cock a snooty attitude & exclaim that you only drink the finest aged coffee!

Well, all I can add to this thread is, “It sure made a great air freshener this morning!” Even if you elect not to drink it due to its age, keep brewing it in your room and letting it waft out into the hallway. Thank you.
