Twenty-six

I worked on the computer room some more yesterday. I anticipate doing some bigger plaster repairs and such, so I wanted to clear the room. Also, when I’m finished, I intend not to bring all the junk back in. I’m hoping to have a freshly painted, mostly empty, very clean looking room when it’s all over.

Most of the junk from the room would be going to the basement, so I decided to count how many times I went down the stairs. It was twenty-six times. That might not sound like a very big number, but I was carrying loads of junk down each time. I was pretty tired by the time I was done.

Here’s hoping I have another sewage leak in the basement so I have an excuse to throw all that junk away.

I don’t have matching before and after pictures, but these give you some idea:

BEFORE
About half of this was trash.

AFTER
Look at that lovely water damage. I think I'll probably just cover the ceiling with drywall.

Whoa! I was not expecting that much water damage! It looks like you have an alien robot up in your fake top story who’s killing people in a futile effort to drive his slumbering spaceship home. (Anyone? Anyone?)

Seriously, that’s a big job. Kudos to you for working so hard! And to your thighs!

Yea…uh…and that alien had bad aim – hence, the spots absolutely everywhere on the ceiling! I hate roof leak spots myself. While we were “downyoshun, Hon”, the ceiling in the master bath where we stayed had a constant slow dripping from the unit above it (leaky toilet seal?) – that meant watching the floor, changing the beach towel that was sopping up the (clean – whew!) water from the floor to prevent it from creeping out to the master bedroom rug…but it left no stains ont he ceiling, so – could always be worse, I guess.

You should consider trying to water stain the rest of the ceiling instead of any sort of repair. Then maybe decorate with some wadded up pieces of paper, an old campfire and some bottles (both broken and not).
