Muddin’

I spent almost all of yesterday applying joint compound to the computer room ceiling. I had read some pointers and helpful hints, and was worried about my technique. But in the end, you just have to do it. My work is rough right now. I plan to sand it today or smooth it with a damp sponge. I’m hoping the ceiling won’t be too lumpy when I’m done. In my favor is the fact that my house is old and the walls are made of plaster and are all lumpy.

So lumps = character? Awesome!

Any imperfections in the surface of the ceiling only add to the uniqueness and character of the garment.

    Hee hee – it’s like your ceiling has some bad zits and has done a poor job with the concealer. It’s ok, ceiling, we all go through this terrible teenage phase.

    Do your neck and shoulders hurt today?

    Will you be adding a texture to it?

    • Deanne

      If so, that will really make it forgiving. Let’s see, can we expand that to Lauren’s acne analogy…?

    Nice job Brad!

    Here’s my tip & contribution to your work that might make things a little easier…whether your texturing, sanding, or painting:

      That is a great idea! I will have to try this.

      {Nuts to Brad’s ceiling right now – your hair is GORgeous!! Was this a wedding day shot?}

        It was.

    I do admire your work, sir – watch out, Michelangelo! (…oh, yea…no worries; I think he’s dead…) You did an undoubtedly far better job on your ceiling than I would have in our kitchen – by His grace I was nowhere around when that was repaired. So…will you be texturing it? That would make for an interesting surface and, as Scripture says, cover a multitude of sins*…not to mention ceiling zits.

    * Horribly out-of-context misquote of Scripture, wasn’t that?
