Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Board Day

Yesterday I finished the theme-of-the-year bulletin board in my classroom. The seniors have chosen Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

As always, I used the idea of the theme verse, but didn’t make the text the largest words in the design. This year, I only had to go three verses farther to get my bulletin board title: “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

I wanted to show a Christian being protected by God. A quick internet search gave me the triquetra. I think it looks like a force field in a video game. 🙂 I’m proud of how the the triquetra came out. It looks very even, doesn’t it? I traced hula hoops to get the nice circular shapes.

I did the little man twice because the first time I made the cross red. I thought it looked better orange.

Very cool indeed. What font is that for the verse at the bottom? Good job getting the words and paper edges so even. That’s a tough trick.

I like the orange cross better AND I like that it is off-center.
How did you get the verse at the bottom to fit JUST RIGHT?
You are a master at this. Every year I am even more jealous than the year before!

Excellent!! And so clever! The use of the hula hoops is genius. Way to go!

(A guy at my church has a tattoo of the triquetra on his back. His mom is in your handbells.)

Excellent contrast in colors. I’m glad that didn’t need Crayola markers for this project.

    PS LOVE the title too!

…so tell us again that, out of all the subject matter you have experience teaching, it seems ART never made it to your plate? You are SOMEthing at this stuff, guy! Another winner for the year, I’d say. I’ll be interested to hear later if the kids react to it in any particular way (e.g., “Cool, Mr. Royuk! Who does your bulletin boards every year?”)
