Trigger

I ate at my favorite sushi place yesterday. I ordered a Coke to drink because I don’t care for their iced tea. When the server brought my drink, it consisted of a glass of ice, and a can of Coke. A can! They used to serve fountain drinks with free refills. Now they serve cans? And you have to buy another one if you want more to drink?

I had an improportionate emotional reaction. I almost got up and left. My hands were nearly shaking as I popped open my can and poured my Coke. It took me a long time to settle down, but my meal was definitely ruined by my foul mood. Will I go there again? Perhaps. But I won’t forget their betrayal.

Just looking at this picture still makes me mad.

I’m glad you didn’t blow up in the restaurant. That would have been messy.

Perhaps next time you visit you could just sneak in your own cans? Ha ha. nervous laughter

No joke, here in St. Louis my wife goes to a Chinese place (I forget the name) she and her friends call “Soup or Soda”. You order your entree, and the server asks “Soup, or soda?” You must choose wisely.

Had I been there when they plunked a can of soda and a glass of ice down, I’d have walked out.

Soup or soda! Ha! That’s hilarious!

And thanks for understanding my rage. I still get angry thinking about it. Maybe it would be best if I didn’t go back there for a while…
