The trash collectors don’t dump my trash can. They lift the bags out. I wish I didn’t have to use a can at all, but the government said they’d fine me if I didn’t, so I have a can. Anyway, after my trash is lifted out of the can, the can sits empty on the sidewalk all day long. As people walk by, they throw trash in it. The trash isn’t in bags, so the trash collectors don’t take it. My trash can now has two weeks’ worth of thrown trash in it. I guess I’m glad that they’re not throwing it on the ground, but I wish they’d at least bag it first.
Yes, that would bug me, too.
What if you only had one tiny bag of garbage in there – say, in a grocery bag? Would they reach all the way down to the bottom to grab it? Seems to me that if that were the case, they wouldn’t want you to use a can.

Try not using garbage bags one time, then they will have to dump the whole thing. That will teach um.
I tried that one time accidentally: the trash bag ripped open and dumped the trash out. They left it. I had to rebag everything before they would take it.

Well, that sucks. So the city runs your trash collection? It is independent in Lincoln. I think I have 10 to 15 garbage companies I can choose from. Crazy isn’t it?
I for one don’t care about my garbage,just the amount of flies it attracts,and how it smells.As for my cat Snowy,he just cares if there’s food in it,and if he can get to it without getting caught trash picking!
Sounds like another phone call to someone’s supervisor to me – that seemed to do wonders for the efficiency and policies of your city dump, no?
