Let the Heeling Begin

First of all, I have to say: Happy Birthday to my niece Tara! Yay! Your present is in the mail. Sorry for the lateness, but it does extend the birthday celebrations.

I have loved my teacher shoes this year. They are some of my most comfortable yet. They are marketed as “work shoes”, so I guess they’d better feel good.

But lately, the insole has pulled away from the inside of the shoe and started to roll up. The result is a lump of fabric right under my heel. Ouch! I’ve tried unrolling it, but it just goes right back to a tightly-rolled lump. I was afraid to glue it for fear that the glue would become a worse pain, either by stickiness or by lumpiness. So I got some thin inserts. I figure these new inserts will keep the fabric smoothed out and will also provide some cushion in case of future lumps. Ehhhxcellent…

In the picture below, the rolled part is off to the right. It was too dark in my living room for my camera to focus properly, and I was too lazy to go to another room.
Ouch!

That was very smart of you. Are they plain inserts or do they have some magical smell-removing or posture-correcting abilities?

P.S. – Thanks for posting a blurry picture. It makes me feel better. 🙂

They’re mostly plain inserts… just a little cushy. And of course I don’t use smell-absorbing inserts. We have already established that my feet don’t smell.

So are you now qualified to be called a sole survivor?

(That would drive me crazy too….it’s like having a pebble in your shoe. And I don’t know why, but I really like that the inside of the shoe is gray instead of black.)

      HA!

Halftime report: Wearing new cushy insoles feels like wearing new shoes. Very comfortable! I should get new insoles every once in a while. 🙂
