This is what some of my perennial sunflowers look like this time of year:
And this is what the rabbit in my garden did to one:
And this is where the rabbit is buried:
I honestly don’t like shooting a rabbit only to wound it, then finishing off the job with a shovel. It makes my insides jiggly. But in the choice between doing that and watching my entire garden being eaten alive, the lesser evil is a dead rabbit.
Um. I could have gone without the details of its death.
Whatever happend to Backyard Cat (was that his name?)? Seems he could have helped with this problem before it came to grave digging.
I haven’t seen Orange Cat in months. I think someone might have taken him to live with them. I should ask my neighbor Carl. He was feeding Orange Cat.
I wish the cat was still around. I saw a giant rat in my back yard this morning. I think I’m going to need a bigger shovel.
*shudder*
Let that be a lesson to all of the rabbit cousins.
Um. No comment regarding the death.
However, I will bore you with the details of a dream. I dreamed that I looked out the window and the yard was FILLED with rabbits. I thought, “Brad will take care of it.”
I see what you’re doing here….Hallmark could not have done it better!
Happy Mother’s Day! The rabbit died!
(btw: get a better gun & take lessons)
HA! Good one, Peggy!! (Do doctors even use that test any more? And if they do…tell us again how Brad would be involved….?)
Brad, you could call RentACat – our fearless (read “stupid”) 2-year-old tuxedo neutered male could be dropped off in your yard to “Kill Da Waa-bit! Kill Da Waa-bit!” He even dons the Viking hat, pigtails and breast plates for an extra fee. He has seriously been seen chasing after neighborhood lagomorphs but not ever seen catching them – and can’t vouch for what he might do with one if ever caught, but at least it would be entertaining to watch and, perhaps, faster and less messy. (And did you first shoot the bunny and none of your neighbors turned you in to the local constabulary?? My maternal grandmother would be jealous – ask me that
tailtale some day if I haven’t bored you with it yet…)
