Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Preparing for the Journey

I did a bunch of things yesterday to get ready for going to Nebraska. I leave (left) today at 6:30am. Whew!

1) Breakfast at the diner a block from my house? Check.
Mmm... Bacon...

2) Mow the lawn and fertilize the pond plants? Check.
It's called 'Panama Pacific' water lily, and it's gorgeous.

And since I was out there, I did a garden movie. It’s a long one! Ten minutes! Sorry.

3) Go shopping and get some shorts because I needed them, and impulsively get some sandals I didn’t need? Check.
The red bands are like racing stripes. They make my feet feel like race cars.

Justin Bieber was at the mall selling his newest fragrance called “Someday”.
He seemed a little quiet. I think I intimidated him.

4) Airplane crashing picture? Check.
I replenished my Dramamine supply.

5) Do laundry? Check.
My whites load is much smaller when I don't have to wash 'teacher shirts'.

6) Eat some seafood before leaving? Check.
These are deviled eggs with crab meat on top. They're called Humpty Lumpty.

Up, up and away! Woo hoo! *jibblie* *jibblie*

WOW. I don’t think we’ll do that many fun things while you’re here. Well, except for laundry. We can do lots of that.

    Off to watch the video!

  2. Lauren

Ha! Did you get the psychic message from your fish? “Feed us or this lily gets it, mister.”

  3. Kristi

That is the most beautiful water lily I have ever seen.

Are you washing something pink with your whites?

  4. Peggy

My, you did leave early! By now I’m guessing you’re not dead. Yay!

And I can’t believe the color of the new water lily! It is breath taking!!!

Brad…..you should set up a display right next to Justin’s. You could call your fragrance….TODAY

    • Peggy

……and see who sells the most. Yours could smelll like nothing, because you like the smell of nothing. You’d send leather- jacket- boy packing.

  5. Lloyd

    I approve of your bacon.

    • Peggy

      …..it is also breath taking!

  6. Lauren

Brad has arrived. He is sleeping soundly.

    1. Glad you landed safely, as always. Enjoy the recharge of being with family and old friends. We’ll all still be here when you get back, deo volente.
    2. Does Seward have chocolate-covered bacon? We tried a slice of that while in Frankenmuth the other day. Could become habit-forming if too readily available…
    3. That water lily is gorgeous – no need to post the obvious. 🙂
    4. Where could one purchase the Humpty Lumpty? Spouse is big fan of both deviled eggs and crab meat….
    5. Did I wish you a good vacation yet?

    • Brad

I haven’t seen chocolate covered bacon anywhere. It sounds good.
Humpty Lumpty eggs are at Pappa’s Seafood takeout at the corner of Oakleigh and Taylor. I thought they had crab meat mixed in with the filling, but they don’t. It’s just the lump on top. But still, they were tasty. I will get them again for sure.

Gratias ago – I told the Thurmanator about where to get Humpty Lumpties (is that the proper plural?) and he told me he may just surprise me with some someday soon. Go figure…but thanks again for the connection! We’ll help keep them in business until you return, I’m sure.
