Is It Good?

Happy Groundhog Day! If the current weather is any indication, I predict that winter will end three months early.

We have had such warm temperatures lately. I normally would say such a thing makes me happy, but it’s only the beginning of February! This warm weather makes me feel like spring is just around the corner, but it’s not. It’s a mile down the road, over a bridge, through a tollgate, and then around the corner. So instead of winter-cold air and some snow every once in a while, we have temperatures in the 50′s and 60′s and rain. And all the plants are dormant. There isn’t even the yellow cheer of daffodils. And I can’t wear my hat. And this is going to last for three more months?

Are warm temperatures nice? I guess. But I find myself wishing for winter.

I missed the 70 degree mark. It must have happened earlier.

What a heartbreakingly excellent description. It’s like we’re in an endless loop of late winter/ early spring that will only end when Andie MacDowell breaks the spell. :(

But the real question is this: can something “end” that never really “began”? Doggone La Nina…grrr…

I feel silly with snowmen and snowflakes in my room and on my windows. There’s just something wrong with that. :-(

It was indeed strange walking in the door after work yesterday wearing cordoroys (or “whistle pants” my mom would say) and a sweater while a young elementary school boy walking home from school sported shorts and a t-shirt.
My mother was yelling at the tips of something poking up in her garden the other day, “Go back to sleep you stupid plant! It’s still winter!”

I too feel like we’re going to have very mild temps. from here on out….with maybe a cold day thrown in here & there.

Now, with the temperatures we’ve been having, why are you wearing a coat (see Article 1, picture above)?

    Who is your perfect guy?
This is a man we’re talking about, right?

    I’m a god.
    You’re God?
    I’m a god. I’m not *the* God… I don’t think.

    Don’t you worry about cholesterol?
    I don’t worry about anything.

    HA! Happy Groundhog Day!

I was carrying the coat over my arm. I had worn it in the morning and was just returning from school when I took that picture.

I LOVE the movie “Groundhog Day”. I should watch it today. But I don’t own it. Maybe I’ll go to the video store on my way home. Yes.
