I’m usually pretty excited about watching and talking about the Superbowl commercials, but this year I’m just not feeling it. I spent all day yesterday at school grading papers. I had gotten behind. I’m glad to be caught up, but doing a marathon grading session like that feels like it’s pulling the life-force out of me – like I lost a year of my life or something.
By the time I finished, it was almost Superbowl time. I had time enough to eat something and mess around with the internet, but then I was watching the game. I have trouble remembering any commercials on my own. Looking at the list, I guess there were some funny ones, but meh. Maybe I’ve become jaded. Maybe I’m just not interested in buying a car. They seemed to be 90% car commercials.
But I definitely am glad to be caught up on my grading and ready for the week. Woo hoo! And any time I see flowers in January, it’s a happy day. These daffodils are blooming in the entry circle of our school. They’re so cheery and impossible. 🙂
“Cheery and impossible” – well worded, sir.
Hulu had many Superbowl commercials up on their site ahead of time, so I got my fix on Saturday. I have to wonder why they do that.
Broderick? Broderick?
Chick. Chickachickah.
You are a WORK HORSE! Three Neighs to you from this lazy mare.
And I was most disappointed in the commercials. I stopped watching after a while and actually did stuff during them like I do during regular TV watching.
(PS. It’s February now. I know, it’s hard to believe!)
Heh. January has seemed to last FOREVER. I’m not in the habit of wishing time away, but I could hardly wait for February to get here. It’s already the 6th! Yay, February!
It was a boring superbowl. I fought sleepiness. Here is what I remember (and liked) from the commercials in no particular order:
1. the kid that peed in the pool (I don’t even remember what it was for)
2. naked M&M
3. hot chick seducing nerd on sidewalk (Fiat commercial I think)
4. grandma and baby snag the Doritos
5. the dog that buried the cat (Doritos)
This day in history – the birthday of Rick Astley.
He’s 46. Happy birthday, Rick!
Even though you all know what this is a link to, you know you want to click it.
Go ahead! Yay! Dance along!
