Pajama Day

Yesterday was Pajama Day at school. It reminded me why I don’t use pajamas: they’re clingy and hot. Shorts will do fine, thank you very much. And wearing pajamas all day? Yuck. I almost changed into a shirt and tie when I got home, just so I could feel more comfortable.

The other thing that yesterday helped me re-appreciate was my teacher shoes. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. They are so comfortable, I wear them on the weekends even. But on Pajama Day, you have to wear slippers. I have to say: slippers are perhaps the worst shoes to wear on cement floors. I was walking on the balls of my feet all day, because if my heel struck the floor, there was a loud thump, and a bone-jarring shock that traveled up my spine. If I wore slippers to school every day, I would have spine troubles by the end of the first week.

Thank you, God, for comfortable shock-absorbing teacher shoes. They are my new favorite blessing.

Thump! Ouch! Thump! Ouch!

While I will agree with you about the slippers on concrete, I think you are insane for not loving pajamas. That’s right – insane. Pajamas (which for me just means sweat pants and a t-shirt) are the bomb! Of course, if we have pajama day in preschool, a fair number of boys have Superman pj’s with detachable capes. You could get on board with a cape, right?

I almost changed into a shirt and tie when I got home… HAHA!!

Hey, maybe next year you could tape cotton balls all over your teacher shoes. That would make adorable looking slippers. And there’s no rules against a covert operation on pajama day is there?

Today is pajama day for us. I usually alternate between these two answers:

    (a) This is what I wear to bed. I take a shower at night then put the clothes on that I’m going to wear the next day. That way when I get up I’m already ready to go. It saves a lot of time in the morning.

    (b) You don’t want to see me in what I wear to bed.

Is it possible that you have 2 left slippers on?
