Yesterday was the last day of school. I already told the kids last week that I’ve been RIFed for next year. They’ve said a lot of kind words to me. There are other teachers who won’t be back for various reasons. Rosie organized a good-bye party for us. The kids made us cards, and we all sat together at the end of the day and ate cupcakes and cookies and drank sweet green liquid.
The room was packed full. It was awesome. What a great send-off.
And I love the cards I got. They were all very thoughtful and appropriate, from a card with a tie on it, to a card with a Skyrim theme (which is a video game that I talked about a lot with one of the kids). And there were lots of sparkles. I had said in class how much I like sparkly things. They remembered!

Thanks for that Brad … I just put my mascara on! Now I have to restart.
I’m so glad it was a good send-off. You deserved a warm & fuzzy party on your last day. Good job Rosie!
Well, that party is just fantastic. I love that the cards are homemade! The sweet green liquid looks suitably delicious, too! Other than that I’m kinda sniffly inside, in that ‘this Hallmark commercial is really bringing out my allergies’ kind of way.
I went right to Charlie Brown when I saw the card.
GOOD BYE………..PARTY! The happiness of a party cannot be denied……..and you were there to enjoy it!! My heart is both happy and heavy! All who read your blog can say the same thing. It will never be the same! You did the ministry that God wanted and needed for the students and staff of BLS to the best of your God-given ability. Thanks from me to all the wonderful staff and students of BLS who received your ministry and filled your being by the power of the Holy Spirit. Every step along the way of our earthly trek brings new lifelong friends. As age 71 hits me on the 17th I am now giving these parting words to friends and acquaintances, “See you in heaven if not sooner”! Love and blessings always! DAD
[OK, now I don’t even wear mascara, and I think mine is running…]
Sniffle
I’m glad you had such a nice day! Those cards are the best ….. they’re straight from the kids hearts to yours.
So what is next for Team Royuk?
I don’t know. I’m visiting North Carolina on Monday to see a school there.
Are there any openings in California?
