Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

It Was Shrimp

Yesterday was my last day in Seward. It was a wonderful last day. In the morning, I slept in and relaxed a little. When I finally started the water for a shower, the kittens helped test the water temperature for me. I haven’t seen such fondness for water in cats. They stayed there until I shooed them away.
After this picture, Ralph (the orange one) got in the water and sat down.

We went to Lincoln for dinner. On the way there, we saw a beautiful sunset.
Red skies at night - sailors' delight.

There's a big snowstorm hitting the eastern US. Hopefully I'll miss it.

We ate at a hibachi grill. It was delicious! I had a seat right in front of the grill. I don’t think I’ve ever been so close. I liked it, because the restaurant was kind of cold, and the grill was keeping me warm. As a bonus, I got a steam treatment for my face. Most of the time, my view looked like this:
It was also really loud when he did the spatula banging.

I remembered that last time I was at a hibachi grill, I got a shrimp and chicken combo, and I said to myself: “Next time, don’t get a combo. Get all ___” But I couldn’t remember which one. Was it chicken or shrimp? I have posted twice before about hibachi grill experiences, but didn’t say what it was that I liked. I took a gamble and ordered shrimp. After snitching some chicken from Tim’s plate for a taste test, I confirmed it. It was shrimp.

Well, that’s a great thing! How sad if you would have ordered all chicken and the realized that you liked all shrimp.

We’ll miss you, Brad. Have a wonderful, safe trip back to Baltimore, and a big thanks in advance to Karla for keeping you advised of any trip hassles. She’s like the Eye In The Sky!

Ralph actually sat in the tub as it was filling with water? What sort of brain virus has affected the litter and is it too late to do anything about it? [Did you check for webbed feet?]

This got me to thinking: not that there would be any substitute for Max, but you might go through FWS (feline withdrawal syndrome) during your months off the mainland – perhaps a long-term sub feline is in order then? Be sure you make the cat provide you with references and really contact them and fast so the cat won’t have any time to warn them the calls are coming…..no, wait…that’s already been done, hasn’t it? he he

Speaking of cold….yesterday was really windy & cold here. I was home alone & inside all day. I even had to break out my winter robe, which I only do when I’m sick. Uh-oh. But when regular people finally came over, it was so cold in my house that they had to investigate and discovered that my furance wasn’t running. It was 56 degrees in my house. Oh. Well, at least I’m not sick. Repairman comes today.
