Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Holy Cow! Denis gave me an iPad for Christmas! He has an iPad and really likes it, and he thought it would be nice for me to have as I go off to Maui, so I can FaceTime with family and have portable computing and stuff. I’m astounded! Thanks, Denis! You’re awesome!

Now I suppose I will have to actually get some apps. I really only use computers for internet browsing and for word processing. I guess I’ve watched some video as well. From my perspective, apps are just a different way of doing things that I already do. An app to convert ounces to pounds? I can do that on the internet. An app to look up an address? Internet. Am I just being old-fashioned? To me, accessing the internet only through apps is like the first days of AOL – You weren’t actually on the bare internet, you were looking at AOL content. AOL news, AOL chat, AOL games… Are apps the wave of the future? Will the browser-accessed internet eventually vanish? Is this the beginning of a fundamental shift?

Wow! I don’t know where all that heavy stuff came from. I’ve been reading a history book. It’s making me think all long-term-ish I guess. But let’s focus on the present. I got an iPad for a present! (Do you see what I did there? Ha!)

My name rhymes with iPad. Hehe...

A-HA! You can be the test group (of one) for my “Carol is considering getting her own technology so she won’t mess up Thurman’s laptop any more” study – do let us know how the iPad works out for you…iBrad…he he

That is AWESOME!!! Denis, you are a great friend!!

I have an autoharp app and a ukulele app, which are both pretty funny, so I recommend those. I use mine in the classroom to take pictures of the children’s work and then show everyone (either on the iPad screen or on the t.v. through an Apple TV gizmo).

At home, I’ve watched t.v. on the Hulu app and listened to podcasts, but mostly – I check Facebook and email, so I guess your deep thinking was right. 🙂
