Long Life

Happy New Year! I spent the evening watching a Dr. Who marathon, turned to “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” for the ball drop, then went to bed. I loved it!

Yesterday I got a few errands done. One thing I did was replace the headlight bulb in my truck. Shopping for headlight bulbs is a little bewildering. There are many different varieties of many different prices. I could look in a book to see the bulb model I needed, but didn’t know if I should get the crazy-expensive one, or the dirt cheap one, or something in between.

Fortunately, there is a guide on the back of the packages. Longevity was my number one criteria. There really was only one choice: dirt cheap. I was surprised. The cheapest one was the longest lasting.

Replacing it wasn't as hard as I expected it to be.

I’m a bit confused now – perhaps you can help me out:

    1. You won’t be driving this truck much for months after the next few days – yet you felt the need to replace the headlight bulb now ?! What a responsible automobile owner you are…or something.
    2. You watched NYRE – are you still young enough to actually still know the majority of the performers this year? [This was Thurman’s and my sign that we are officially elderly: no channel provided musical entertainers we recognized any more. Ever since Guy Lombardo left us, it’s been a challenge, but this year in particular was a bit scary.]
    3. So is your truck a model HB2 or H4? Very smart to take a photo of the card on the back of the compatible bulb size – for the year 2035 when the next head lamp burns out?!
    4. Of course: the best and least expensive bulb would be made in Germany
    🙂 .

Happy New Year, dear friend – enjoy the last few days in B’more for a while. Like we, it’s going to miss you. 🙁

Live long & prosper little bulb.

Happy New Year to all! I’m starting my new year off by taking Matt to the airport. 🙁

I have started to write the date of installment/first use on things like that. I replaced a light bulb that I had written ‘This better last until I’m 45’. They’re liars – all liars.
