Places I’ve Never Been: The Fractured Prune

I have heard about the Fractured Prune donut shop for a long time, but have never visited there – until yesterday. The Fractured Prune is a place where you can order custom donuts. They have a bunch of different glazes and toppings and you choose whatever combination you want. They have suggested combinations, or you can make up whatever mixture of flavors you want. It always sounded interesting to me, but for some reason I never went. I should have gone a long time ago. They… were.. AWESOME!

I got “creamsicle”, which was orange glaze and powdered sugar, and “lemonade”, which was lemon glaze and granular sugar. Oh my gosh! They were delicious! They cook the donuts right when you order them, so they are warm and fresh when you eat them. I devoured them right when I got into my truck. I should have gone there a long time ago.

Here are the samples they had on the counter when I got there:
They all look so delicious!

Oh, dear. I just spent a ton of time on their website. What an awesome place with a great idea! The kid’s meal is served on a Frisbee!! That is clever marketing. Mmmmm……. donuts…….

I saw on the commercial that they have an automatic donut maker. What? No flipping them over with chopsticks? (Do you remember that from long ago?)

I’ve never been there either. Should I go now, or wait until I have a job offer in Bora Bora?

Besides the 2 you tried, I’m most interested in the chocolate covered cherry. I love chocolate covered cherry candy, minus the actual cherry inside. I take that out & devour the chocolate & juice. Dang it, now my mouth is craving a donut.

I agree with you about the cherry. It just ruins the candy.

I’ve HAD their chocolate cherry donut (from the FP downy oshun, Hon) – it is truly a gastronomic delight! Yet I doubt there would ever be a donut I could not find favor with/in/??

[Note to self: after about two months that Brad’s in Hawaii, go to FP and build a boxful to send to him, being sure to include the two he had that he enjoyed so much.]

PS. I always thought that was an awfully strange name for a donut shop. Thanks to your link I was able to read up on how they came up with the name.
