More Delicious Food!

It was another wonderful food day. During Bible class at church, someone brought coffee cake. It was moist and delicious. But the thing that really knocked me off my feet was some pineapple that was the sweetest I’ve ever tasted. I would have gone back for more, but I didn’t want to seem greedy…
So sweet...

After church, I went to lunch with the associate pastor. He also invited some geologists from Alaska who often visit Maui in the winter. We went to a country club on the slopes of the West Maui Mountains. I had a delicious oriental chicken salad. After we ate, we stood on the balcony. Part of the balcony was empty because there had been a birthday party there. I tried out my new iPhone app. It’s a panoramic view! Finally, I have at least partially captured the gigantic size of Haleakala, the volcano that dominates the eastern horizon.

At church, a couple of families offered some furniture: a table and a dresser. One family had a truck and offered to pick the stuff up and drop it at my apartment. We talked a little bit about restaurants in the area because the husband works in Kihei and eats there all the time. They suggested we go out to dinner. We went to an Italian restaurant called Fabiani’s. I got pizza. It was awesome! The crust was thin and crunchy. The toppings were so tasty. I will definitely be going there regularly.
It was fun to eat with a family.

Wow!! What a jam-packed day you had! I love the panoramic view – it is go gorgeous! When my preschool kids were looking at a book about the earth, they got caught up on the pages about volcanoes, as they do. I told them that my friend moved to a place where there is a volcano, and they were concerned for your safety. I assured them that it was a quiet volcano. 😉

    It’s a quiet volcano, right?

From the USGS web site, I am sad to report (italics mine): “East Maui volcano has witnessed at least ten eruptions in the past 1,000 years, and numerous eruptions have occurred there in the past 10,000 years. Thus, East Maui’s long eruptive history and recent activity indicate that the volcano will erupt in the future.” Apparently, Haleakala is in East Maui…hmmm…

It was 9* when I drove to work this morning. And it was snowing.

That’s all I have to say.

Well Karla, at lest the rest of us live where all the germs and bugs die every winter, right? (Trying to see the rainbos behind the grey cloud we call winter here…)

That view is breathtaking! BREATH TAKING!! I hope it wasn’t too hard taking a panoramic view, because I for one for love to see more!

Is Kihei far from you? That pizza does look delicious!

    Mangia!
