Valentine’s Day

Yesterday was Valentine’s Day. We celebrated in lots of ways. The kids were very excited to decorate the room – so excited that they could hardly wait until the designated decoration time. I laid out some decoration materials, and they got to work. They did a fine job:
This was after school and I was already pulling the chain down.

I particularly admired the persistence it took to do this:
Lots of cutting and lots of taping.

The amount of treats was amazing! The kids sure liked sharing them. Not only did the kids in my room share their treats with me, but kids from other classes stopped by as well. It was a sugar bonanza!
So many treats.

My funniest treat was the Fun Dip. Earlier in the day, I did a bit of a rant about how I dislike the “new” Fun Dip color (that’s been around for several years) called RazzApple. My student Ben was planning on giving me a RazzApple FunDip valentine, but heard my rant. He quickly changed it to cherry, since Taylor was absent. It was my favorite gesture of the whole day. Thanks, Ben. That was so thoughtful.
Mmm... cherry...

Hooray! It was a Wonkalicious day indeed! The classroom looks spectacular!

I am cracking up at the non-traditional Valentines. Is that a box of cereal?? That’s one of the best ideas I’ve ever seen! And is there a sticker on that donut?

Those little guys sure do love thier new teacher – it’spretty obvious. I mean, anybody who;;d swap out Taylor’s FunDip to make his teacher happy…what more can I say?

…and I gmyself ot but one teensy bag of hearts/cookie/Kisses from the 6th grade boy whose high-pitched voice annoys me the most (If you watch the AT&T commercial with the man in the suit sitting around the kindergarten table with 3-4kids asking them which is better and you hear the little girl say something like “absolutely!”….that’s my student. But I digress…) Just shows ta; go ya;…I need to show that guy a bit more love next week…

…oh, and at least 24 daffodil leaves are shooting up through the mulch in the front garden you planted – it’s very cool! Will smile and think of you all spring now…

Wow! What a fun day! Much more fun than mine was. And such thoughtful students indeed! Love all the decorations!

Did you get any Spam hearts?
What is that one treat in the box? With the chocolate frosting & heart?
