Cookies

Last night I made some cookies to bring to Bible study tonight. In the time I’ve lived here, I’ve made chocolate chip cookies five times. Maybe it’s because I really like to eat cookie dough. Maybe it’s because I don’t have the ingredients in my kitchen for anything else. Maybe it’s because my Grandma Hummel’s cookie recipe rocks.

I’m pretty well set up for baking. Lauren sent measuring materials. Beth sent me a spatula. I bought a cookie sheet. But I don’t have a mixing bowl. Instead, I use a big plastic pitcher to mix the ingredients. I need a sturdy stirrer. No problem – Lauren sent me a flat ice cream scoop. Perfect!

Chop and fold.

Chop and fold.

After I mix, I dump in out on a plate, knead a little, and spread it on a plate to cool in the refrigerator. Then I eat dough until I’m sick, or I bake cookies and share. Or both! Last night I didn’t eat much dough. I had had a big dinner.

Ahh…. seeing you use a pitcher as a bowl does my heart good. Very MacGuyver of you! And using the ice cream scoop? Genius.

Haha…..I love the pitcher! You could keep it in your frig & when guests come over you could pull it out & offer them a cup of raw cookie dough. I for one would LOVE that offer!

What tastes better….the cookies or the dough? I have to go with an even tie!

You probably have time to vacuum more than once/month, too. I think I may hate you now. 🙁

–signed, one tired teacher longing for the end of another school year very very very very soon. Thank you.
