A Working Vacation

Yesterday was a more laid back type of day. We started by going to church. While we were there, my friend Russel asked if we wanted him to take our picture. We did. I think it turned out pretty well:

After lunch, we went to Kalama Park. Lloyd lay on the sand while Samith and I sat at a picnic table and did work. The park has a giant sculpture of a whale. I couldn’t resist doing an action shot of me holding the whale by the tail.

A feat of strength!

A feat of strength!

After the park, we stopped by the Maui Plantation. I thought it would be fun to feed the fish. Unfortunately, the shop was closed, so we couldn’t get fish food. Fortunately, there was a chicken in the parking lot.

cluck, cluck, cluck...

cluck, cluck, cluck…

We ended the day with a meal at Da Kitchen. Samith and Lloyd had kalua pork. They liked it. I had a salad. I liked it. I also had some lemonade-flavored drink. I didn’t like that so much.

“Fortunately, there was a chicken in the parking lot.” That might just be my favorite line ever.

I love the picture! Hurray for a laid-back day! 🙂

Um, ‘hooray’ or ‘hurrah’. Take your pick.

    1. Lloyd – Nice shirt!
    2. Brad – How old are you? You’re acting like a middle-schooler!
    3. Samith – I assume you are the sensible one in the bunch. Hope to meet you sometime.
    4. At first I thought you were going to feed the chicken to the fish. At age 50, it takes me a second to comprehend. Lauren is right … funny!

Thanks. That’s my second favorite Hawaiian shirt.
