By the Side of the Road

I’ve been doing some walking around my apartment complex. It’s weird how close I am to I-95. There is a hill next to my apartment, and on the other side of the hill is the interstate. For those of you who know it, The Avenue at White Marsh is directly across the interstate from me. I could walk there if there were a tunnel or bridge to cross.

I have been very curious to see what the interstate looks like if you approach it on foot, but I’ve been blocked by dense undergrowth and fences. I may yet find a way to see it, but for now I’ll just be looking at trees.

My apartment building is on the far right. The interstate is on the other side of the hill to the left.

Ah, you can’t shake the explorer bug, can you? Just pretend that the hill is a rainforest and you’ll be there in no time. Don’t you just need a machete to hack through all that stuff? 😀

If you do make it to 95 on foot….please be careful. I hate seeing killed things on the side of the road.

Watch out for what may be hiding in the weeds beside the road……

Similarly, when I occasionally travel up that stretch of I-95 and look down, I am always struck by how close that community is to 70+ mph whizzing – sort a’ scary, I think. It almost looks like one could leap from the moving vehicle onto, say, the roof of the BestBuy off Campbell Blvd. (Well, not me of course, but say some super hero could!)

You now reside dangerously close to the Hilton Garden Inn where they serve the great brunches on weekends. They’ve really remodeled in recent months, and while we’re not crazy about the new décor’, the food and service are still great. If you ever want to walk over some Saturday, you know you’d have company….just sayin’…
