Snowy Parking

Yesterday it snowed in Baltimore… and the rest of the east coast. The snow started falling just as I started my shift at work. The forecast was calling for six to ten inches.

My truck isn’t the best vehicle for driving in snow. If I parked in the parking lot at work, I was afraid I would get stuck. Instead, I parked a block away on a downhill slope with no one in front of me.

No cars around at all! No danger of collision.

No cars around at all! No danger of collision.

It worked out well. I coasted down the hill, then made my slow way home. It’s weird to still go to work when it’s snowing, but I’m glad I had no incidents. And I think I’ve found my default parking spot for snowy weather.

We actually thought of you and wondered if you had any ballast in the truck bed in case you did not have off yesterday. Now we see your clever anticipatory skillz rescued you regardless. Nicely done, sir. Were there many clients during the storm? (Translation: was it worth the effort to even get there?)

As the day went on, more and more people called to cancel their appointments. Then at 4:00, when the roads were empty and unpassable, a family showed up at their scheduled time. They must have been determined to keep that appointment! After that, it was all emergencies.

I am very glad you took it slow going home. Nobody needs to get in an accident during a storm. Great thinking with your parking spot, too!

Glad you made it home without incident!! It looked pretty bad out there!

Of course it was beautiful if you were inside! But if you’re driving, it’s the most gorgeous terror ever!

…….Oh dear, the winter cold has affected my skin more than I thought!
