Visitation

Yesterday was a full day. I spent a lot if time watching classes. The kids were fun to watch. I also saw some co-curriculars. The choir was amazing. They sang in the sanctuary. It was beautiful. There are three giant stained glass windows. Each represents a Person of the Trinity. The behind the altar represents Jesus:

In the evening, I went to the annual fundraising auction. It was fun! I had delicious food and a silky-smooth glass of tasty red wine. It was a great end to my visit.

Lovely sanctuary! Huge fellowship hall! This place has a lot going for it in the obvious – and, it sounds, on levels that should count more as well. (Any school with a good choir must be good all over, right?) Still lifting all this in prayer – God knows where you should be…

Just had a flashback to a visitation I once made to a Lutheran school in North Carolina – was there over the week-end of their annual PTL spaghetti dinner and sat across from the then-pastor, where I learned how he was going to pick up his new Glock soon that he had won in a contest at the lock gun shop. While I understand that might have been a feather in the cap for some folks (ahem), it caused me to include this phrase in my phone conversation home that night “…so far I don’t think this is such a good fit for me”. (Different protective weapons* of choice for different folks, I guess.) * = knitting/sewing needles, scissors, crochet hooks…
