The Return of the Cara Cara

My lunch at work has sort of stayed the same. I’m still eating pretzels and peanut butter. For some reason, I have stopped eating apples. It’s not because they aren’t good apples. I still have some Honeycrisp in my refrigerator. I’m just not eating them.

My favorite lunch fruit has been my daily navel orange. When I peel it around co-workers, they always comment on the nice smell. I am most excited that it is now Cara Cara season. I once again am enjoying this delicious variety of navel orange. The flesh is so red that it sometimes looks like a grapefruit. It leads my co-workers to comment, at which time I offer a segment. I describe the flavor as not the sweetest or juiciest orange I’ve ever had, but definitely the most flavorful. Mmm….

It's like eating a fragrant flower.

Egg-cellent! Nicely done, as always, Ms. Lauren. Thank you for my morning giggle (following oversleeping, which caused zero giggles).

Yay! Orange you glad that this a peeling fruit is back! In the future, a little champagne sprinkled on it would make the perfect pear.
    (Disclaimer: all puns are stolen)

Nice to hear you’re sweetening the world….one segment at a time!
