Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Beauty from Afar

The weather was beautiful yesterday. It was cool in the morning, but warmed up as the day wore on. By afternoon, it was delightful. I went outside twice. The first time, it was to take a chart to the pet store. The second time, it was to go to the dumpster.

When I’m at work and it’s nice out, I always say to myself that if I were free, I’d be outside enjoying the weather. But when I’m off and it’s a beautiful day, what do I do? I stay inside. Sheesh!

Sunny and warm.

Sunny and warm.

The title of a Billy Joel song comes to mind as I read your reflections – “You’re Only Human”. It’s probably human nature to have dreams of what we would only do if and then do almost the opposite on the more regular basis. (At least, I hope that’s what explains my long to-do list before a break and the not-much-shorter list that remains once break is over…) Welcome to the race – but next time at least celebrate your external freedom with trips to more glamorous spots than the dumpster, okay?

Ha! Agreed. Left to our own devices, Lloyd and I sit in front of screens (computer or television) all day. I sometimes think I need to install a timer on this that shuts it off after an hour. My mom was using StumbleUpon and one of the random sites that came up said, “You have finished the internet. Go outside.”

Great picture – the sign points ONE WAY, and the lady is walking her dog the OTHER WAY.

Yesterday was just perfect (hard to believe it’s going to snow on Thursday…….hehe, just kidding)! I wish it would stay like this until fall.
