I went to a couple of garden centers yesterday. I was looking for a white-flowering redbud tree. I’m not sure I want to get one yet, but I do want to at least see one in person.
I didn’t see one, but I was excited to see that one of the nurseries had a calamondin orange plant. I used to have one years ago, but it stopped blooming over time, and I finally just left it outside to freeze to death one winter.
The plant I saw yesterday was covered with flowers and had a few ripe oranges on it. Plus, it was on sale. I decided to splurge and buy it. I’ll let it continue to enjoy the outside sun for as long as it’s warm, then it will be inside for the winter.
How can you not just eat that whole plant? Or scrub your house with it? Good splurging, sir!
How cute!
But I’d recommend you never let it hear you tell the story of the Other Orange Plant that you LEFT OUTSIDE TO FREEZE TO DEATH (…oh…I’m sorry…was I shouting there?) Cruel gardener….
That tree is awesome! Can you eat the oranges?
Over the weekend I just bought a Citrus Oder Absorber at Home Depot. I tend to always go for the fake stuff. And it does smell GREAT!!
You can eat them, but they’re very sour. I end up using them more like lemons… squeezing them over steamed vegetables, adding juice to a drink, etc.
