It was a good Thanksgiving day. It started with a worship service full of music. The handbells rang, brass and drums played, and the choir sang. There was also lots of congregational singing. It was a great way to start the day.
After church, I had a turkey dinner at my house. I was mostly interested in turkey and mashed potatoes and gravy, but I also made some stuffing and broccoli. I ate my fill, then dozed in front of the TV. It was a very good day.
Lovely table setting! (Did you dine alone yesterday? 🙁 ) Sure looks yummy.
Yesterday was our first time helping serve residents of South Baltimore through the annual TG feast given at St. Thomas. Saw lots of old friends from other churches and former schools but mostly enjoyed praying with and feeding strangers obviously in need of the love of Christ. Next year, if you feel up to it, you might consider this option. It was filling on a whole other level. Afterward, we took ourselves to a non-turkey feast elsewhere and home to crash, so it wasn’t an all altruistic day either. Today to Hagerstown for family fun.
[Hope you get to rest and regroup now a bit before Monday – three weeks to the finish line of 2014 school. We can do this.]
Ahhhhh….. very, very nice. Your dinner looks delicious! Enjoy this Friday!
Um…that church looks eerily like First Lutheran. You’ve never mentioned that before… Remarkable.
Also. I’m all about the turkey mashed potatoes and gravy. The other stuff just takes up valuable tummy property in my mind… We must be related.
