Stuck

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

When I got home yesterday, I heard Gus but didn’t see him. He usually greets me at the door. Instead, I heard a hoarse meow coming from somewhere in the house. I called to him, and he would call back. After narrowing it down to the upstairs, I found him in the bathroom behind the closed door. He had somehow shut himself in the bathroom.

I’m not sure how long he was there, but he was glad to see me. He didn’t leave my side for the rest of the night. I made sure to sit on the couch a lot so he would be comfortable.

Awwww….. poor Gus. At least he had a rug to sit on and available water, right? He looks like he’s never going to leave your side. EVER.

Once Lloyd shut Ralph in his closet at night. I was trying to go to sleep but some dumb cat was scratching at something and wouldn’t quit. After trying to ignore it for a long time, I went out to whack whoever was doing it. That’s when I realized Ralph was just trying to dig his way out.

He did have water and a rug. I looked to see if maybe he peed somewhere, but I found nothing. I thought maybe it was later in the day that he got shut in and wasn’t there for very long.

You are not alone, sir – out Binx LOVES to sneak into the guest bathroom, hide behind the door until you leave, closing the door behind you so no kitties can enter (ha!), then play until he gets bored, then cry and scratch to get out. Usually, someone’s home when this happens and he can be sprung quickly. Reilly has spent a day in my bedroom, but had a litter box in there – seemed to enjoy sitting on the bed and looking out the window actually.
