I got my taxes done in time. Whew! I had done everything but file them before I left for Florida. Last night I did the filing. I finally switched over to e-filing my federal return. I always felt it caused more work for the IRS if I did paper filing, so I’ve continued to do that. But this year, laziness won. Laziness always wins.
I did not e-file my Maryland return because they charge you for that. I can’t figure out why. I imagine the tax ministry of Maryland would want to encourage e-filing. Isn’t e-filing more efficient? Isn’t it easier to process?
I decided I would not reward them for their bad behavior. I printed out and mailed my documents. It’s 2015, Maryland! Enter the computer age already!

Good for you. Now that horrible process is behind you for another year. Don’t forget to have me fly out here next time for snack and paper-fetching. 🙂
