My school had its annual fund-raiser carnival yesterday. It was cool. There were games the kids could play using tickets, there was a rummage sale, there was food, and there was a silent auction.
The games were fun. I participated in one called the Sponge Splat. There was a board I stuck my head through, and the kids tried to throw wet sponges at me. Only one kid hit me square in the face. My co-worker Eric got it worse. The kids who threw at him seemed to have much better aim.
I enjoyed the silent auction. I bid on lots of items. I won three: a stationery basket (I was after the stamps), a grocery store gift certificate, and a bucket of Fisher’s Caramel Corn. Woo hoo! I got some stuff, and my school got some money!
Great sport, O Sponge Splat Target!
Looks like you had a win-win there. Great weather yesterday for all this, too. Our church had a cleanup and painting day, Lunch on Us for the community, and some went to the march downtown (I know some Emmanuel-ites were there as well). Were you as tired at the end of the day as I?
It looks like you might have enough stamps there to send me a bucket of Fisher’s Caramel Corn.
…. and a card a day until you retire.
