Boat Ride

Because yesterday was an unusual Monday off, I decided to do something special: I went to Annapolis. In a former life, I went there every spring on a field trip with seventh graders. I kind of miss that. What I really wanted to do was something I haven’t done in many years: take the 40 minute tourist cruise on the ship from the harbor.

The trips leave every hour on the hour, and have a running recorded narration of what is passing by on the left and right. Most of the information is about the Naval Academy.

These were some buildings associated with the sailing training program.

Mostly, I just think it’s fun to be on the water and feel the wind and the sun. It was a delightful ride.

Today I start a field trip with the sixth grade. We’re doing some outdoor ed stuff at a camp. I intend to post from my phone. Hopefully there won’t be any problem with that…

It all looked delightful until it sunk in that you were out on the water, then – not so much. Although, maybe a harbor wouldn’t be so bad? Anyway, what a great, summery way to spend your Memorial Day. I hope camp goes well. How long does it last?
